Fillers and Botox®

Fillers and BOTOX® are non-surgical treatments we offer for rejuvenating your skin and improving its appearance.

Fillers

We use fillers to shape the contours of parts of your face such as lips, chin, and cheeks and to "fill" some of your deeper wrinkles or lines. We use a very fine needle to inject the fillers into your skin.

We have a range of products and treatments available. At your initial consultation we devise a personalised treatment plan for your specific needs.

The end result

Fillers offer you an improvement in the contour of the area being treated, for example, a smoothing out of wrinkles. Their effect lasts from 6 to 12 months before your body absorbs them.

Side effects

Generally, any side effects experienced from fillers are temporary. Your specialist will inform you fully at your consultation about these.

BOTOX®

BOTOX® is a natural purified protein. We use it as a treatment:

  • to temporarily relax wrinkle-causing muscles in your face
  • to prevent excessive sweating.

We hold regular BOTOX® clinics at our Wellington surgery.

Treatment for wrinkles

BOTOX® treatment relaxes specific facial muscles that cause frown or forehead lines or crow's-feet wrinkles.  We use very fine needles to inject small amounts into targeted areas.

Other areas that can be treated for wrinkles include “Bunny Lines” across the top of the nose and to soften a “Gummy smile”.  Repeat treatments may make the effect last longer so if a good routine is established now, you may need lower doses in the future.

The end result

BOTOX® treatment takes 2 to 3 days to begin taking effect and about 7 days to see the full effect. You will notice that your skin smoothes out and you lose your facial lines at the site of the injections.

The effect can last up to 4 months before lines slowly begin to return. The effect tends to last longer with repeat treatments.

Treatment for excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis)

You can have injections to treat excessive underarm sweating. Small amounts are injected into the skin of your armpit, using a very fine needle.

The end result

BOTOX® targets sweating at its source by blocking the release of a chemical that signals the perspiration.

The effects of the first treatment last an average of 7.5 months.

Side effects from BOTOX® treatment

Generally, any side effects experienced with BOTOX® are temporary. Your specialist will inform you fully at your consultation about these.
